KITCHEN TOURS

At Banter, we hand-make all of our ice cream at our production facility in Chilliwack, BC! Teachers can book a Kitchen Tour for students where we offer an inside look at this process!
Making ice cream is tons of fun, but it’s also a great way to explore real-world applications of math (like balancing and scaling recipes), science (thermodynamics and refrigeration), and even art! During our Kitchen Tours, we dive into these topics and love hearing the creative questions students bring to the table!

A chance to ask questions about ice cream, business, or anything else they’re curious about.
After touring the kitchen and meeting our awesome team, we’ll head to the service area, where every kid gets to enjoy a scoop of ice cream!
We do not charge an additional fee for our Kitchen Tour option, however, we do require groups to pay for their ice cream. Details on sizes and pricing can be found on our FAQ page.
PLEASE PROVIDE 10-DAY ADVANCE NOTICE: To ensure the best field trip experience, we ask for a 10-day advance notice both for Kitchen Tour requests and for any visits outside of our regular operating hours. While we aim to accommodate all field trips, we may not be able to fulfill all requests!
Visiting During Regular Hours
Classrooms and groups are welcome to visit just to enjoy a scoop at either our Abbotsford or Chilliwack locations, for a more laid-back outing. If you plan to bring your class for ice cream during our regular operating hours, we’re happy to welcome you at any time. However, letting us know in advance really helps our staff prepare for your arrival ahead of time, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable visit for your group!
