Ice Cream Maker - CHWK

We’re on the lookout for a fun, motivated, and reliable individual to join our Kitchen Crew for the Summer! (April-September)


At Banter, we make all of our ice cream, mix-ins, and treats in-house from scratch—and we’re constantly creating. We launch four new seasonal flavours every month, so there’s always something fresh on the go. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, but it’s also creative and collaborative. You don’t need to have made ice cream before—but experience working in a kitchen or bakery is a strong asset.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Making ice cream and prepping mix-ins from scratch with your team

  • Baking, roasting, chopping, measuring, and following recipes

  • Packaging pints and pre-orders

  • Keeping the kitchen clean and organized

  • Dishwashing and maintaining food safety standards

  • Completing shift tasks efficiently and consistently


What We’re Looking For

  • Kitchen experience: 1+ year in a commercial kitchen or bakery is preferred

  • Availability: Full time positions available, as well as part-time with flexible schedule (ie: open to covering additional shifts during holidays or sick days)

  • Strength & stamina: Able to lift up to 20kg and be on your feet for 8 hours

  • Preparedness: FoodSafe certified and owns kitchen-safe shoes

  • Team spirit: Collaborative, coachable, and brings good energy to work

  • Positive attitude: Comfortable in a fast-paced setting and open to feedback

  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in cold temperatures


Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting wage for this position is $19.50 / hour plus tips
